Hello. My name is Shane and this is my story. 9 years ago my very dear friends approached me and asked if I would be a surrogate for them so they could have a baby. They are a gay couple who have now been together for over 20 years and they desperately wanted a baby of their very own. I was ready to step up to the challenge. I was single and not looking to start a family, so why not? My feelings quickly changed the moment I met "our son". As soon as he was born and placed in my arms, I discovered that thing that all parents know. That having a child is the most wonderful thing in the world. I fell immediately head over heels in love with our little boy. I was lucky enough to have amazing friends who said, "yes. You are his Mom." And it's been great. I see my boy all the time. I live 2 floors down from him. We have "sleepovers" every other week, just him and I. I coached his baseball team. We go on family vacations together. It is amazing. But, I also quickly realized that I wanted a child of my own. One that I didn't have to send home at the end of the day. One that I could make the rules for and help mold and am responsible for. So i asked my friends to go on another journey with me and help bring another baby into our amazing family. They were ready, but my body was not. I was unable to get pregnant as easily as I did 6 years prior. So i started looking at other options and settled on Embryo Adoption. I am excited to have the connection of being pregnant again and bringing another amazing person into the world. and my son can't WAIT to be a big brother!
