Hi, my name is Tiffany Chau. I am Sheryl's wife. Sheryl and I have been together for 9 years and have been married for 3 years. She is my best friend, my co-pilot, my ukulele girl, my role model, my confidant, my superwoman and the bright light of a wife I could ever ask for! We are a lesbian, Asian-American couple from San Diego, CA. We have a 14 year old son (from my previous relationship) who Sheryl is an amazing 2nd mom to! At this point in our lives, Sheryl is ready to experience all that motherhood has to offer.
We've been trying to have a child for the last 3 years with no success. Our journey started in 2019 right after our wedding. So far we've done a total of 9 IUI procedures with Sheryl doing 8 of them totaling 25K spent in 2021. We used 3 different donors, undergone 9 procedures and seen 3 different doctors and clinics. I've seen her poked and prodded over and over again. I've stood by her taking different vitamins, supplements, medications and shots hoping for a chance to carry her own child. We have sad days then really sad days. In this process, it has taken a toll on her mentally and physically. Trying to have a baby is a lot of stress. It's a lot of grief.
With this fundraiser, we will be able to alleviate the worry of how we will fund our next cycle and she will be put in the best position mentally to carry. I know that this won't guarantee us a baby, but this support will remind my wife who she is -- a powerful, sexy, confident, loving, positive, resilient powerhouse of a woman that we all love no matter the outcome. This will give us the opportunity to keep going on our journey…
If we are able to raise money to expand our family, it would go to one more IUI procedure which will be done next month (October). Our doctor has recommended IVF in the past, however, we weren't able to come up with the funds for IVF so we went forward with IUI. If we are able to save + fundraise enough, we would love to move forward with IVF as it has a higher success rate. Thank you for taking the time to read our story and all the love + support!
In light of full transparency, here are the costs of our procedures:
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) Cycle - $1275
Medication - $150-$500
Sperm Vial with S&H - $1550
IVF Cycle - $26,298
IVF medication - $6000-$8000

To all our incredible friends, family, and community, After 5 long years of trying, filled with the ups and downs of IUI and IVF, we’re beyond excited to finally share some amazing news—we’re expecting! 🥹 This journey has been anything but easy, and there were moments when it felt impossible to keep going. But because of all of you, we did. Your generosity, whether it was through donations to our IVF fund, encouraging messages, or just cheering us on when we felt drained, truly carried us through. Knowing we had so much love and support from our community made all the difference. Without you, we don’t think we’d be here sharing this joyful moment today. To everyone who has provided us a gift for our journey to become parents, again … Thank you<3. We have now ended our fundraiser and it has been an emotional time for the Chau Family. After our last IVF, Tiffany and I have decided to concentrate on our family of three. We do not know what the future holds for us. We are taking it day by day. What we do know is that we are loved, and we are grateful for that alone. All the love in monetary gifts, words of encouragement and messages, prayers, we will forever remember every count and word. Grateful doesn’t even begin to cover it. Though this journey isn’t easy, people (like you) who give from the kindness of their hearts are the reason we remain hopeful. We look forward to celebrating when we can carry someday. When we do, we will think about those that donated and made it possible ♥️ UPDATE: We have received a $5000 fertility grant from Cozy Warriors and are able to move from IUI (25% success rate) to IVF (60% success rate) for our fertility treatment. We do need to get a few things in order and we anticipate to do IVF in January 2023. Thank you for standing by our side during this journey, We love each and every one of you.
