My name is Dana DeSantis and in my short 35 years, I have overcome numerous life obstacles to become the woman I am today. For as long as I can remember, I wanted to be a mother, and have always had that maternal instinct and felt drawn to helping and caring for others. In 2007, I joined the Army as a Military Police Officer when I was just 18 years old and served for a total of 8 years. Though there were rough, eventful, and life-changing moments during my time in the service, I still stood by my passion for altruism. While in the Army, a medical emergency that resulted in infant loss, also left me unable to carry a child of my own. And in 2020, I ultimately had to have a hysterectomy. I am now a Family Nurse Practitioner, and becoming Psych certified, and married to the love of my life, Paul. We so desperately want to start a family of our own. For as long as I could remember, I wanted a large family and to fill my home with laughter. I wanted to see the happiness and joy of my children written all over their beautiful faces as I tuck them into bed every night. Receiving the funds raised would mean the world to us, as well as our families, and would help us begin our life and legacy. We would like to begin the surrogacy process right away, however, due to recent inflation, the cost of surrogacy has increased beyond the financial planning we had anticipated.
