Their story

My name is Brittany, and I am applying for your fertility grant because becoming a mother again is a dream I still hold close, even after life has made that path more complicated. After my last birth, I underwent a tubal ligation during a difficult and overwhelming chapter of my life. Today, I am in a place of stability, healing, and clarity — but unable to conceive naturally. IVF is my only path forward. Motherhood has shaped me in ways I never expected. I am the mother of four incredible children, each with their own unique challenges and triumphs. My oldest son is autistic, Level 3, and nonverbal. He communicates through gestures, expressions, and pure-hearted joy. My second son is autistic and verbal, curious about everything and always eager to learn. My youngest son was born with congenital heart disease and has survived two open-heart surgeries — battles that taught me strength I didn’t know I had. And my daughter, my youngest child, was also born with a heart defect. She, too, underwent open-heart surgery, and I stood beside her through every monitor beep, every sleepless night, every moment of fear and hope intertwined. I advocate for my children with everything in me. I work hard, I provide, and I continue building a life rooted in stability, love, and resilience. What I am asking for now is the chance to grow my family in a way that reflects who I am today — a woman who has healed, who has learned, who has rebuilt herself, and who has more love to give. The decision I made years ago was shaped by exhaustion, trauma, and circumstances that no longer define me. I want the opportunity to rewrite that chapter with intention and hope. Receiving this grant wouldn’t just give me the chance to have another child — it would give me the chance to create a new beginning, one filled with joy instead of fear, choice instead of pressure, and healing instead of regret. Thank you for considering my story. This opportunity would mean more than I can express, and I am deeply grateful for your time, compassion, and understanding. With hope, Brittany
