In June of 2022, Eric was diagnosed with Marginal Zone lymphoma(Non-Hodgkins). We did not realize the devastation cancer can bring to a family. At 28 years old, starting a family was not the goal- it was survival. After two different cycles of intravenous chemotherapy(due to the first cycle not taking), many trips to specialists located 3 hours away, radiation, and masses removed, Eric's current oncologist has found an oral medication that has put him into remission. Revlimid(Lenolinamide) is the name of the medication. This medication causes severe birth defects in children conceived while a parent is taking the medication. This is reason #1 for needing IVF. Reason #2 is Eric's repeated exposure to chemotherapy. This has caused infertility. We are optimistic that we can still have children, due to a successful microTESE procedure being performed on Eric. The only way to have children is via IVF. We are finally seeing a life after cancer. There is so much to live for, including having children. We are hoping and praying for financial relief, as IVF is quite expensive. The financial burden of having cancer has weighed on us for the last four years. Any help is greatly appreciated.
