My name is Erica and I'm 39 years old. I have been diagnosed with infertility due to endometriosis. I've had one procedure already to remove the endometriosis from behind my uterus and I have dealt with the constant back pain and unbearable cramping for months. December 2022. I've started my journey to receive fertility treatment per my insurance with my employer they only cover 5000 out-of-pocket max lifetime max. I have use all of that but $981.00 which this amount will go towards my transfer medication. I receive my phone call today to go over my paperwork for my transfer as I have already had the retrieval done but has depleted all savings upon receipt of the information regarding my transfer. I received an unexpected email that I had to pay out $2925 in order to move forward with my transfer. I am devastated in the beginning I was told that I can be a balance bill and make a payment plan and once I talk to the financial counselor, she reached out to her practice manager to see if it was an option to do a payment plan towards the $2925.00 and she replied that her manager said that is not an option they must be paid. To me this has crushed my dream because I cannot come up with the funds right now due to an unexpected move that I have to take care of I really hope and pray that I can move forward with my transfer next month to start our family.
