Becoming a mother has been my greatest hope for as long as I can remember. As a child, I always envisioned a home filled with the beautiful chaos of a large family—imagining at least three children running around, filling our lives with laughter and warmth. However, life didn't unfold on the timeline I expected. While waiting to find the right partner, I channeled my energy into building my career, prioritizing my health and wellness, and completing my master’s degree.
Four years ago, after witnessing my sister undergo a hysterectomy, a deep instinct told me to protect my future family. At age 38, I made the decision to freeze my eggs to preserve my chance at motherhood. Then, a little over a year ago, life brought me the partner I had been waiting for. I met Alex, who is 48, and who completely shares my profound passion for family. Neither of us has children, and together, we have envisioned a future built on love and a home of our own.
Now, at 42, I have finally uncovered the root causes of my infertility and have undergone the necessary corrective surgeries. Biologically, I am entirely at the mercy of those eggs I froze four years ago. My medical providers have been incredibly honest with me: "time is of the essence." We must act now. We are standing at the threshold of the final, critical phase of our IVF journey: fertilizing my frozen eggs, utilizing necessary embryo-related services, and performing an embryo transfer if viable embryos develop.
While we are grateful that health insurance may help cover a portion of this final phase, fertility treatments come with significant remaining out-of-pocket expenses that we must cover ourselves. Asking for financial help is not easy, but I’ve learned that pursuing something deeply important means allowing the people who love you to help carry you through.
Every single dollar raised through this page will go directly toward bridging the gap left by insurance—covering the remaining laboratory fees for egg fertilization, embryo services, and the final embryo transfer.
There are no guarantees with IVF, and we enter this next chapter with a realistic understanding of that uncertainty—but also with an overwhelming amount of hope. If you are unable to contribute financially, simply keeping Alex, myself, and our future baby in your prayers will mean just as much to us. Thank you for being a part of our village and helping us realize our dream of a loving family.
