As I reflect on my journey to grow my family, it's clear that this experience has been an emotional rollercoaster. My spouse and I have navigated the highs of hope and the lows of disappointment, especially after each positive pregnancy test followed by the heartbreak of a heavy period. We have leaned on each other through it all, using open communication to ensure we both feel supported, while also keeping an eye on our existing child, who dreams of being a big brother. Growing our family has been a process filled with logistical challenges and financial strain. After trying to conceive using a known donor, we realized the emotional and financial toll it took on us. With the costs of donor sperm, medications, and necessary appointments all out of pocket, we are doing our best to plan strategically so that we can pursue our dream of adding to our family without compromising our financial stability. I am grateful for the family and friends who make up our village, providing support as we navigate this journey. Their encouragement has been invaluable as my spouse and I work to fulfill our child’s dream of having a sibling. With access to baby clothes and childcare, we feel blessed, yet the financial burden of trying to conceive remains. This grant would mean so much in alleviating that stress and allowing us to focus on love and connection rather than financial worries. Despite the challenges we've faced, I remain hopeful for our future as a family. Our child’s excitement and genuine desire for a sibling fuel my determination to make this dream a reality. With the assistance from this grant, I believe we can finally take the necessary steps towards achieving our family goals, making the journey a little less daunting and filled with more hope. Growing our family is a journey filled with hope, but for my spouse and me, it feels daunting due to the financial constraints we face. As previously stated, we have everything in place—a loving home, supportive family, and clothes and necessities for children stored away—but without access to the necessary fertility resources, our dream remains just that, a dream. This grant would empower us to take concrete steps towards conception, allowing us to embrace our future with the confidence that we can provide a happy, healthy environment for our future child. How we'll use the funds: The grant would pay for donor Vials, medication, and fertility related appointments as they are not covered by our insurance. What this would mean to us: Being able to have the financial means to actually try to conceive would mean the world to us. Every time my son asks about his potential sibling, it actually breaks my heart a little. It would bring our family great joy and feel like we are able to grow like a typical family does even accidentally. Our hearts would be so full as soon as we see those two lines!
