My name is Heather Tredway, and I am 36 years old. I live in Fayetteville, NC, with my wonderful husband, Jacob Tredway. Since I was a little girl, I have dreamed of becoming a mom. The joy of nurturing a child, of watching them grow and learn, has always filled my heart with hope and excitement. However, as I grew older, I began to realize that my journey to motherhood would not unfold as I had envisioned. It has been a challenging path for me, as I’ve come to understand that carrying a baby and getting pregnant naturally is not something I can do. This realization has brought with it a wave of emotions—sadness, frustration, and at times, a sense of loss. I often find myself reflecting on the dreams I held so tightly, grappling with the reality that my path to motherhood may look different than I had imagined. Through this journey, Jacob has been my steadfast partner. Together, we have explored our options and learned about the possibility of using donor eggs to help us start our family. It’s a decision that brings both hope and anxiety, but we believe that this is the way forward for us.
