Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. We wanted to take a moment to talk about something really important to us and that's fertility. As many of you know, it can be a long and difficult journey for those struggling with infertility. There are so many different factors that can impact someone's ability to conceive, and it can be incredibly stressful and emotionally draining. My husband, Alex, and I have recently found out just how stressful and emotionally draining infertility can be as we have been to appointment after appointment with what seems worse news and a bigger and bigger bill each time.
Again, as many of you know, I was diagnosed with PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) around the age of 17. This has altered many aspects of my life because there is so much that is unknown about PCOS. It is treatable but not curable and it affects fertility in many women. PCOS affects about 1 in 10 of all women in their reproductive years. Crazy right? Aside from PCOS, we recently went in for an HSG (Hysterosalpingography) which is an X-Ray of your uterus and fallopian tubes. We found out that both of my fallopian tubes are blocked so we will never have the option to have kids naturally. IVF is our best option.
We inquired about tubal cannulation which is a surgical procedure that can help clear out fallopian tubes but we were told I am not a good candidate because of PCOS. We are stuck, we are devastated, and we are feeling slight defeat but we are refusing to give up.
That's why we are reaching out to all of you today to ask for your help. We are using this fundraiser as a way to fight to be parents without digging ourselves into a devastating amount of debt. This is very important to us as we both have always pictured ourselves having a family of our own.
Every little bit helps, so please consider donating if you're able to. Even just a few dollars can make a big difference. And if you're not able to donate, please help spread the word by sharing this fundraiser with your friends and family.
Thank you so much for your support! We appreciate every single one of you.
