My name is Ashley and I am on the long path to becoming a single parent by choice. I haven’t been able to find a partner but I have always known I wanted kids, so I’m choosing to do things a little out of order. I officially decided I wanted to do this shortly after freezing my eggs in April 2021. After finishing law school and taking the Bar exam in July 2022, the real work began. I have had three IUI’s and I’m about to start my 4th. If it doesn’t work, I will likely need to move on to IVF, which is very expensive, especially because I also have to add in the cost of donor sperm, which is nearing $2k for a single vial! I have already spent tens of thousands of dollars between the egg freezing and the IUI’s. I hate the idea that I may successfully get pregnant but will begin life as a single parent in debt due to the cost of IVF. Having some financial help would really help take some of the weight off my shoulders throughout this process. Anything helps!
