Help Grow the Lowe Family

When we set out to grow our family, we were ecstatic - we thought we'd have good news by Christmas. We couldn't wait to announce a pregnancy to our family and friends. Unfortunately, not everyone gets to experience the joy of announcing an unassisted pregnancy to their loved ones; 1 in 8 couples experience infertility, and we are one of those couples. Infertility treatments are expensive and often inaccessible. An IUI (intra-uterine insemination) cycle can cost up to $6,000 while a single IVF (in-vitro fertilization) cycle can cost up to $25K, and most insurance policies do not cover any of these costs. Donated sperm can also cost up to $1400 per vial, and several vials are required to successfully conceive. On average, it costs about $50,000 to conceive a child with medical intervention. When we reached out to a fertility clinic for help, we thought maybe we'd just need a little assistance to achieve our goal of getting pregnant, but we were heartbroken to find that there is no possible way for us to get pregnant without a sperm donor and medical assistance.
