My name is Jennafer and I met the love of my life, my soul mate, my better half. Knowing that natural reproductive chances decline with decided to start trying. After 6-months of no results, we went to medical specialists to help get answers. The reproductive endocrinologist ran a genetic screening on me and I came back as a carrier for Duchenne’s muscular dystrophy. If we were to conceive a male child naturally, there’s a 50% chance they would suffer from this incurable, deadly disease. Because of these odds, our doctor suggested we do IVF. We are both Active Duty Army and Tricare does not cover the cost of IVF. I am about to retire next March and began a new chapter in my life, hopefully with a progeny by my side.
