The universe truly aligned when Ray and I met. Ray was working away from home in my city for a couple months. I was sitting around my staff room table and the consensus was to swipe no. I swiped yes. We matched. After chatting for a few weeks we finally set up a date. We went to a local pub and I spent the next 6 hours breaking all conventional dating rules trying to convince him why he shouldn’t date me (I was in a mood). One of my very first sentences was that, “if you don’t want kids we’re basically done.” Luckily- not only did Ray want kids but since his job was leaving town in a week- we decided to move in together after our second date. He left his life in a different city and moved in with me. We pulled the goalie after a few months and spent the next year trying. That first year was blissful ignorance. Slowly- we started realizing something was wrong. 5 years later we have accumulated: - 5 failed IUIs - 3 failed IVFs - 1 successful mini IVF which resulted in 1 frozen blastocyte - 1 failed FET And then finally- our 2nd FET with our one golden embaby took and we were pregnant ❤️ Bliss. Then at 6 weeks I was rushed to the ER due to bleeding. I was diagnosed with a miscarriage but it was actually a subchrionic hemorrhage. I was on bedrest for 2 weeks and then at our 7.5 week ultrasound we found out the bleed increased and the baby’s heartbeat was plummeting. We lost our little Phoebe. We were (and still are) crushed. We’ve spent over $45,000 to get to this point. To have another shot at a family will cost us another $15,000. A family has been our dream since day one. We would so greatly appreciate the chance.
