If you know me, you know that becoming a mother has always been one of the biggest dreams of my life. When Steve and I got married, we couldn't wait to start building our family together. While Steve is already a proud father to three incredible daughters, we both dream of welcoming a child that is ours together- a baby we could love, raise, and watch grow side by side. We never imagined that dream would become the hardest journey we've ever faced. After months of testing, appointments, and unanswered questions, we learned we were facing severe male factor infertility. Because of years of medically prescribed testosterone replacement therapy before we met, Steve's body had stopped producing sperm naturally. For nearly two years, he stopped the medication that helped him feel like himself and committed to countless doctor visits, injections, medications, blood work, and repeated testing. Every time we hoped for good news, another test came back with the same heartbreaking result: no sperm. It felt like our dream was slipping further away. Then, after so much waiting and praying, Steve underwent a micro testicular surgery at UAB. Against difficult odds, the surgeon found sperm. For the first time in a long time, we felt hope. Now we're preparing for IVF with ICSI and genetic testing starting in October - the next step that could finally give us the chance to hold our baby. Unfortunately, IVF is incredibly expensive. With insurance not covering it, we're facing tens of thousands of dollars in medical expenses for treatment, medications, procedures, embryo testing and transfer. Asking for help is incredibly hard for us. We've spent a lot of time praying, saving, and trying to find every possible way to make this happen on our own. But we've come to realize that sometimes dreams are made possible because of the kindness and generosity of others. If you feel led to donate, every dollar will go directly toward helping us continue our fertility treatment and move one step closer to becoming parents together. And if you're unable to give financially, we completely understand. Sharing our story or keeping us in your prayers means just as much. We believe our miracle is out there, and we aren't giving up. Every birthday, every Mother's Day, and every baby announcement have reminded me how deeply I long to hold my own child. I believe with all my heart that one day I'll get that chance, and I can't thank you enough for helping us keep that hope alive.
