This journey has not been an easy one, physically or emotionally, but my dream of having a child with my current partner is something I continue to hold close to my heart.
At the age of 25, I underwent a tubal ligation after agreeing to the procedure. At the time, I understood that my tubes would be cut, tied, and cauterized. However, I later learned that my tubes had been clamped instead. Shortly after giving birth, I unexpectedly discovered that I was pregnant again, approximately one month after delivering my newborn. At that point in my life, I was overwhelmed, struggling emotionally, and experiencing feelings of guilt and depression. I made the difficult decision to terminate that pregnancy because I did not feel emotionally or mentally prepared to care for another baby so soon after giving birth.
Years later, I pursued IVF in hopes of having another child. Unfortunately, my journey has included heartbreak. I went through two IVF cycles, one of which ended in miscarriage, while the other was unsuccessful. Experiencing those outcomes was devastating, but despite the disappointment, I have never completely given up on my dream.
I am now 36 years old and have a different partner whom I love and want to share this experience of parenthood with. We both have children from previous relationships, and we are grateful for the families we already have. However, there is something incredibly special about the hope of creating and welcoming a child together. We would love the opportunity to experience that chapter of life as a couple and share a biological child of our own.
I understand that IVF is a financial, physical, and emotional commitment. After everything I have already been through, the thought of having another opportunity to try is both exciting and overwhelming. Unfortunately, the financial cost of another IVF cycle is a significant obstacle for us. Receiving an IVF grant would give us an opportunity that may otherwise be out of reach.
I am not asking for this opportunity because I do not appreciate the children we already have. I am asking because our desire to grow our family together is genuine, and this dream has remained in my heart despite the setbacks, loss, and challenges along the way.
I hope my story helps you understand how much this opportunity would mean to us. A grant would be more than financial assistance. It would be a chance to try again, a chance to hold on to hope, and a chance to potentially welcome a child that my partner and I could share and love together.
Thank you for taking the time to consider my application, listen to my story, and consider giving us the opportunity to continue our IVF journey. Your generosity could make a life-changing difference for our family.
3RD Times A Charm :)
