Their story

I’m a single mom by choice to a beautiful daughter who will be four this summer. She’s my miracle after a long and emotional fertility journey — two years of trying, six failed IUIs, a difficult first IVF cycle that gave me one embryo and ended in a chemical pregnancy, and finally a second IVF that resulted in four embryos. One of those became my daughter. Last year, I began trying for a sibling. I lost one embryo during the thaw, and another gave me a pregnancy that ended in miscarriage at 10 weeks. We saw a heartbeat once, and then we didn’t. In March, I transferred my last embryo — another chemical pregnancy. Through it all, I’ve done this alone, financially and emotionally, but not without love and hope. My daughter asks when she can have a baby sister or brother. I told her too early. Now she asks constantly, and I don’t know what to say. I’m preparing for another IVF egg retrieval in hopes of giving her the sibling we’ve both dreamed of. My insurance covers a portion, but not everything. I’m about to hit my lifetime maximum and will be fully out-of-pocket after this next cycle. I still need $5,000 to cover medications and out-of-pocket treatment costs. I’ve come this far on my own — but I’m asking for help now to keep going. Every donation, no matter the size, brings me closer to completing this story with a double rainbow after the storms. Thank you for reading and for supporting my journey as a single mom by choice. This isn’t easy to ask, but I’m not ready to give up.
