My name is Joanna. My husband and I have been trying to conceive for the past two years. We were blessed with a pregnancy once before, but sadly, it ended in a miscarriage. At first, we chose to pursue a naturopathic route, hoping for a more natural path to conception. Unfortunately, insurance didn’t cover any of the appointments or supplements, and the costs quickly added up, leaving us in credit card debt. Despite the challenges, we didn’t want to lose faith. We decided to move forward with IUI, especially since it was covered under my insurance. However, we learned that my husband’s insurance does not offer coverage, and adding him to mine through the school where I work would be extremely costly. Because his job doesn’t provide health insurance, only PTO, he has to pay for his medical expenses out of pocket. We’re hoping to raise money or apply for grants to help ease the financial burden of this journey and keep moving forward with hope.
