My name is Jocelyn Garcia, a 41year old woman with a strong desire to have a baby with my husband. At age 15 I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes which later led to kidney failure and dialysis. I went through dialysis for 5years before I got a transplant. Fortunately, I got a kidney and pancreas transplant on September 30,2015. Before getting married I became pregnant with a high-risk pregnancy due to preeclampsia, high blood pressure and diabetes. I became a mother of a beautiful baby girl at age 25. After my daughter was born, I had to go through a hysterectomy due to the high-risk pregnancy which doctors mentioned would happen again if I were to get pregnant. My husband and I tried our first round of IVF treatment in May 2026 with no luck since there was bad communication between doctors regarding my transplant medications. My transplant team has been working with me to make this journey come true.
