My name is Crystal, my husband Josh and I have been trying to start a family for almost three years. Our journey has been challenging due to my diagnosis of endometriosis also commonly known as endo. Endometriosis affects an estimated 11% percent of American women between the ages of 25 and 40. Women with endometriosis are more likely to have infertility or difficulty getting pregnant. (John Hopkins medicine) After two laparoscopic surgeries to remove the endometriosis lesions, 5 medicated cycles, and 5 medicated IUI cycles we have decided with the guidance of our fertility doctor that IVF may be our only option to have a child. Many people may not know that most insurance policies in the U.S. do not cover infertility treatments. We have already spent close to $10,000.00 on our previous fertility treatments/surgeries and now are excepted to come up with close to $20,000.00 dollars for IVF treatment.
