Hello! My name is Lauryn, and at the age of 16 years old I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. PCOS, is a common health issue characterized by many (poly) fluid-filled cyst along the ovaries, irregular periods, excessive unwanted body hair, weight-gain, and infertility. Although there is little research and information surrounding the exact causes and effective treatment options, PCOS affects 1 out of every 3 women. My partner (Patrick) and I, whom happens to be my “high school sweetheart” have been trying to conceive for 3 years; however, PCOS has impeded that process due to infertility. There are many couples who have had great success with conceiving using fertility treatments despite having PCOS; I truly believe, Patrick and I will be in that number. PCOS/infertility won’t win!
