My name is Leah, I am 33 years old and I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when I had just turned 11. My sugar was 1300, almost putting me in a coma. From that I suffered many damages to my major organs, including my kidneys, leaving me with stage 2 kidney disease. I was told by doctors from 11 that even though I could get pregnant, the pressure it would put on my kidneys would disintegrate them and ultimately kill me. Due to that and other issues, I had a hysterectomy at the age of 22.
For the most part I never felt like I wanted children, until I met my husband when I turned 30. Once we got married, and became more in touch with our faith, we realized we wanted something of us but I couldn't give that to us naturally. Luckily, I still have eggs, so now we are looking at taking the journey of finding a surrogate but with medical bills for me and the cost of a surrogate, we need help and would beyond greatly appreciate any and all help we could get. Thank you.
