Their story

My husband and I have been together for 6 years and married for 2. From the very beginning, I knew that starting a family might be difficult for me because I was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis. One of the most difficult moments of my journey came during a routine ultrasound, when the technician suddenly began taking images very quickly. I was overcome with fear, and when I finally met with my doctor, I was told I had an 8cm endometrioma on my left ovary that needed immediate surgery. During the procedure, they also performed a laparoscopy to remove as much endometriosis as possible. It was one of the scariest experiences of my life, but I held onto hope that it would improve my chances of conceiving. Unfortunately, that was over two years ago, and despite everything, pregnancy has not happened for us. I spent six months on Clomid with no success before being referred to a specialist. From there, we have tried eight rounds of IUI. The first cycle resulted in two cysts and required us to wait before trying again, which only added to the emotional toll. It has often felt like one setback after another. Through it all, my husband and I remain steadfast in our dream of becoming parents. We long for the chance to love and raise a child together, and despite the challenges, we are committed to continuing this journey with hope and faith.

IVF

We are officially on the books to do IVF in October. We are nervous but excited. We have another fundraiser coming up on August 1, 2026. A Slow-Pitch Softball Tournament. We are still just under halfway to our goal. I pray every day for our miracle child, and we can't wait to start IVF and hopefully bring a bundle of joy home.

February 12

Not as Planned

Once again, our IUI\'s did not go as planned. It is February, and we still have one cycle left. Between the ice storm that cancelled one IUI and my body forcing us to take a break in December, we are about to start our last IUI cycle before praying and working hard for IVF funding.

October 9

More IUI while we try to get funding for IVF

We have decided to try 3 more IUIs while we wait to raise the funds for IVF. This will bring us to the end of December 2025 if there are no setbacks. We started the pills a few days ago, and will start the shots for this round this coming weekend. Prayers that this 6th cycle of IUI is successful!
