My name is Jennifer Marshall, and I am 45 years old. I live in Cincinnati, OH, with my husband, Omar, and our four children. Our family is filled with love, but there’s a significant piece missing that we desperately long for—a sibling for our miracle baby. I am applying for this grant because I have faced significant challenges in my journey to expand my family. After experiencing two small babies delivered before 40 weeks and enduring three heartbreaking miscarriages, I was told that carrying another child using my own eggs is not an option. The loss of my last baby three years ago was particularly devastating, leaving a void that feels impossible to fill. Each miscarriage took a part of my heart with it, and the pain is something that I carry with me every day. Omar and I always envisioned a large family, and these losses have been incredibly difficult to process. Despite the heartache, we have remained hopeful. Our daughter is a true blessing, and she has brought us so much joy, but we can’t help but yearn for more children to share our love and experiences with. Recently, I learned about the possibility of using a donor egg and carrying a child through IVF. This revelation reignited a spark of hope within me, and I am excited about the appointment we have coming up to discuss this option with a doctor. However, the financial burden of this process looms large over us. This grant would mean the world to my family and me. It would help alleviate the financial stress associated with IVF and the use of frozen donor eggs, allowing us to focus on what truly matters—bringing another child into our lives. We are praying that this journey leads us to the family we’ve always wanted. It’s a journey filled with uncertainty, but I hold onto hope every day. I believe that with the right support, we can make this dream a reality. I am grateful for any opportunity that would help us take this crucial step towards expanding our family. How we'll use the funds: I would use the grant funds for whatever parts of the treatment it covered. This would hopefully help us to be able to take out a smaller loan to cover the rest. Then we can save money also for the new baby. What this would mean to us This would mean the world to us! We haven't wanted to have more children for years now. But because of my age and poor quality and quantity of my eggs, that hasn't been possible. Our journey so far Has been a difficult one. Having 3 miscarriages and being told the chance to have anymore is nearly impossible was a huge blow. But with Ivf and places like IRH , they have made it possible! Possible that we can have another!
