My name is Ashley, and I am a 39-year-old nurse living in FL. Throughout my career, I have dedicated myself to caring for others, whether it’s my aunt who is battling MS or my father who is living with Parkinson’s. My profession has always been about putting others first, and while I find joy in that, it has also led me to a realization about my own life and dreams. For years, I have envisioned starting a family and becoming a mother. However, as I navigate the challenges of being single and in my late thirties, I find myself feeling the weight of time pressing down on me. I have tried dating, hoping to find the right partner to share this journey with, but so far, it hasn’t worked out. The desire to become a mother is becoming more urgent, and I know that I need to take action soon before it is too late. One of the most significant challenges I face is financial. Being a nurse, I do my best to make ends meet, but with the expenses associated with fertility treatments, the dream of starting my family feels daunting. The financial burden of procedures like egg retrieval, embryo freezing, and preparing for embryo transfer is overwhelming, especially when I am trying to do it all on my own. The thought of accumulating more debt in pursuit of my dream is frightening, but I feel I have no other choice. Applying for this grant represents a glimmer of hope in my journey. If I receive this support, it would mean the world to me. It would alleviate some of the financial pressures and allow me to take the steps necessary to start my family without the added stress of debt. I long to have a child of my own, to nurture and care for them just as I have done for others throughout my life. This opportunity would not only help me fulfill my dream of motherhood, but it would also allow me to focus on my own happiness and well-being for the first time in a long while. I have spent so much time caring for others, and now I am ready to shift that love and care towards my own family. I am incredibly grateful for any support that can help me on this path.
