My name is Gabriela, my husband’s name is Juan. We got married in 2019 and dreamed of having a baby soon after. However, I was diagnosed with uterine fibroids which caused difficulties in my fertility journey due to heavy bleeding. At one point, I had gone through 4 blood transfusions within months. My OB referred us to a fertility specialist for a course of action to help with pregnancy and advised for fibroid removal surgery. I underwent this surgery in 2022 in hopes of having our dreams come true, however due to complications after surgery I ended up losing my uterus and had to have a partial hysterectomy. I am writing you today, to say that I have not lost hope and still have my ovaries. We hope to undergo IVF treatment with a gestational carrier.
