My name is Nikki and I have early onset menopause. I started have 21-day menstrual cycles while in my 20s and now I’m out of eggs at 46 years old. My husband and I met later in life and have been married for two years. We decided to talk to a fertility specialist when we were having trouble conceiving. The doctor told me that I didn’t have any viable eggs and in fact only had about 5-6 left and that was almost a year ago. I’ve gone back and forth about how I feel about it, between sad and mad at myself for not getting on birth control to regulate my cycles early on. Now, my husband and I are sifting through all the information and trying to figure out how we can have a child via donor egg with the extremely high price tag.
