Their story

Hi! My name is Nikki! Ever since I can remember I always wanted to be a mother. I have a very nurturing side to me, always watched my nieces for my brothers and sisters-in-law, looked after little cousins, and take excellent care of my houseplants. I even treat my dog and cat as my children! I live in NYC where for the past 20yrs I have grown my career as a well respected hair colorist. After we were allowed to return to salon life in the summer of 2020 I took a leap of faith and went out on my own to manage myself and the clientele that I already had. The only problem with working for yourself is the limited resources for amazing health care. Health care that would afford me dare I say luxury of infertility care… This is where you fabulous people come in! I am crowd sourcing for the amount to get me through the odds and ends of this journey since most of the costs are out of pocket expenses. You really don’t know what costs what until there is an actual price list of services sitting right in front of you, and boy are those costs are high! I have a nice chunk of savings ready for half of the costs but the amount I’m sourcing for will cover all necessary testing, medication and hidden costs that may come my way. If you could even donate as little as $5 to this fundraiser, I would be forever grateful…   thank you Nikki

Baseline blood work

Hi friends! It’s been a while since I’ve been on here b/c I’ve been waiting for appointments to come up. I first and foremost want to thank everyone for your support and generosity. It’s been so nice to be surrounded by such amazing friends and family through this journey! My first update is not much to report but something! I am headed to the NYU fertility center this morning for a routine blood panel to see where my hormone levels and ovarian reserve is. Next stop is the appointment next week with the reproductive endocrinologist, so stay tuned!

Donor chosen!

Hi everyone! Sorry it’s been a while but these things take time. We are now about 4 weeks from the start of my IVF cycle and just today I have secured the donor. I am feeling more and more excited everyday and finally relieved that almost everything is in place for me to start :)
