Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
If you know us, you know that our journey to building our family has been a path paved with deep hope, tears, and ultimately, a miracle.
We are a happy family of four here in South Africa—my husband, myself, my wonderful stepson (15 years old), and our beautiful baby boy. (18 months)
Our youngest was brought into this world in 2025 through ICSI (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) on our second round of ICSI. He was the answer to our deepest prayers. Now, as our little boy approaches his 2nd birthday, our biggest dream is to give him another sibling to grow up with.
The hurdle we are facing
is that I live with a low egg reserve (AMH of a 42 year old, and I am only 37 years old), which means conceiving naturally isn’t possible for us. Because of this, time is our biggest enemy. My reserve keeps declining, and our medical team has made it clear that if we are going to try again, the time to do the procedure is right now.
We recently gathered our courage and savings to try ICSI again. We were filled with so much joy and hope when we successfully managed to get two fertilized eggs. We transferred both, holding our breaths, but heartbreakingly, the pregnancy didn’t take.
Fertility treatments in South Africa are incredibly expensive and not covered by standard medical aid. For our last ICSI round, my wonderful parents stepped in and helped us financially. We will forever be grateful to them, but their funds are now completely depleted.
We are a hardworking family, but we simply do not have the upfront funds needed to pay for another round of medication, scans, lab fees, and the procedure itself before our window of opportunity closes for good.
It is incredibly humbling and difficult to ask for financial help publicly, but we want to know we tried absolutely everything to bring another sibling into the world.
Any contribution, no matter how small, brings us one step closer to our goal and gives us another chance to hold a miracle in our arms. Every Rand counts and goes directly toward our clinic and medical costs. If you aren't able to donate, sharing our link with your network, friends, or community groups would mean the world to us.
Thank you from the very bottom of our hearts for reading our story, sharing our burden, and helping us hold onto hope.
