I am seeking financial assistance to preserve my fertility before undergoing a medically necessary hysterectomy. I have already completed a fertility evaluation with a reproductive endocrinologist and was told that I am a good candidate for egg freezing. Unfortunately, my insurance does not cover the cost of the egg retrieval procedure or the fertility medications required. At 31, preserving my eggs would allow me to keep the possibility of having another biological child in the future, even though I will no longer be able to carry a pregnancy after my hysterectomy. As a single mother, paying the full cost of fertility preservation out of pocket is a significant financial barrier for me. Receiving assistance from Gift of Parenthood would give me the opportunity to preserve this part of my future before that opportunity is permanently changed by surgery. Any assistance toward the cost of my medications and egg-freezing procedure would mean more to me and my family than I can express. How we'll use the funds: This grant would cover the cost of medication and the procedure to freeze and store my eggs, giving me the option to have children in the future with my partner.
