My name is Adia McDaniel, and I am 30 years old. My partner, Erica McDaniel, and I have always shared a dream of starting a family together. From the very beginning of our relationship, we envisioned a future filled with laughter, love, and little ones running around our home in Carrollton, KY. However, the journey toward that dream has been paved with challenges. Like many couples, we have faced our share of ups and downs in this process. The reality of infertility is something that has touched us deeply—it’s a struggle that so many couples are confronting today. It’s a path filled with hope and heartache, and each month has brought its own set of emotions. We embarked on a few rounds of fertility treatments, each one filled with anticipation and the desire to create the family we’ve longed for. Each time we faced disappointment, it felt like a weight on our hearts. The emotional toll was heavy, and it became clear that we needed to take a step back. We took a much-needed break to focus on our mental and physical health, allowing ourselves the space to heal and regain our strength. Now, after this time of reflection and care, we feel ready to start the process of trying to conceive again. We are hopeful and optimistic, holding onto the love that brought us together in the first place. Our journey may not have followed the path we envisioned, but our commitment to each other and our dream of becoming parents remains unwavering. With each step forward, we are reminded of our resilience and the love that binds us.
How we'll use the funds: The grant with cover medication cost, and the cost for donor sperm, as well as cover monitoring during our IUI fertility treatment.
