My name is Chantel, and I am 38 years old. I live in Edmonton, AB, with my partner, Andrew. We have been on a challenging journey toward starting a family since 2018 when we have our first positive pregnancy test that sadly ended in a miscarriage at 6 week we have been trying ever since with no success, and I am reaching out to share our story in hopes of receiving support through this grant. Since we began trying to conceive, we have faced many ups and downs. After multiple attempts and several challenges, we have recently gone through five IUI treatments since December 2025.all of which ended without a positive pregnancy test. With each unsuccessful attempt, I’ve grappled with feelings of uncertainty and self-doubt. I often find myself wondering, "What is wrong with me?" The emotional toll of this journey has been immense, and it is difficult to articulate the heartache that accompanies each disappointment. Despite our struggles, Andrew and I remain hopeful. We have explored various options, but it has become clear that IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) is the next step in our journey. We are currently on hold due to financial constraints, and it weighs heavily on us. The prospect of IVF represents not just a medical procedure but a glimmer of hope to finally realize our dream of becoming parents. Receiving this grant would mean the world to us. It would give us the opportunity to proceed with IVF treatment, which we believe is our best chance at success after exhausting all other options. The financial burden of IVF is significant, and this assistance would allow us to focus on what truly matters—bringing a child into our lives. I have always imagined being a mother, sharing love and laughter, and creating a nurturing environment for a little one. Andrew shares this dream with me, and we are committed to doing everything we can to make it a reality. This journey has tested our patience and resilience, but it has also strengthened our bond as partners. I am reaching out not only to share our story but to express how grateful I would be for the chance to take the next step towards our dream. I hope that through this grant, we can find the support we need to continue our journey and, hopefully, one day share the joy of parenthood.
