Becoming a mother has always been one of my greatest dreams. Like many couples, I imagined that starting a family would happen naturally. Instead, my husband and I have found ourselves navigating years of infertility, countless doctor's appointments, surgeries, medications, and heartbreaking setbacks. Our journey has been defined by perseverance, faith, and the unwavering hope that one day we will have the opportunity to welcome a child into our family.
Our infertility journey began with two life-altering diagnoses: Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and endometriosis. Together, these conditions have created significant barriers to conception while also causing chronic pain, physical exhaustion, and emotional hardship. What many people don't see is that infertility is far more than a medical diagnosis—it is a daily emotional battle filled with uncertainty, grief, and longing.
In an effort to improve my chances of becoming pregnant, I underwent two laparoscopic surgeries to treat my endometriosis. While surgery offered hope that it would improve my fertility, it also came with physical recovery and emotional vulnerability. Like every step in this journey, it represented another chance to move closer to our dream of becoming parents.
Following surgery, we committed ourselves fully to fertility treatment. We completed multiple medicated cycles, carefully following every instruction, attending every appointment, and allowing ourselves to believe that perhaps this would finally be our time. When the cycle ended unsuccessfully, we were devastated, but we chose to keep moving forward.
Our next step was preparing for an intrauterine insemination (IUI). We entered the cycle hopeful that this treatment would bring us closer to our dream. Instead, we received heartbreaking news: the cycle had to be canceled because of poor egg quality. Losing the opportunity before treatment could even take place was incredibly difficult. It was another reminder that infertility can take away hope before it even has a chance to grow.
We continued to fight. We proceeded with another monitored cycle that included a trigger shot, once again believing that this could be the breakthrough we had been praying for. We counted every day, watched for every symptom, and hoped for a positive pregnancy test. Unfortunately, that cycle also ended without success.
Each setback has brought immense heartbreak, but it has never diminished our desire to become parents. Infertility has taught us resilience, patience, and the depth of love we already have for the child we have not yet had the privilege of meeting. While this journey has been emotionally and financially exhausting, it has also strengthened our commitment to building our family.
The financial burden of fertility treatment has become one of the greatest obstacles we face. After investing in surgeries, medications, monitoring appointments, diagnostic testing, and multiple treatment cycles, IVF is now our best chance to achieve the family we have dreamed of for so long. However, the cost of IVF places an enormous strain on us, making this next step difficult to pursue without assistance.
Receiving this IVF grant would provide far more than financial support. It would provide hope after years of disappointment. It would allow us the opportunity to pursue the treatment that offers the greatest chance of overcoming the obstacles created by PCOS and endometriosis. Most importantly, it would give us the chance to continue fighting for the family we have dreamed of building together.
Although our journey has been marked by setbacks, we refuse to let infertility define us. Instead, it has shown us the strength of our marriage, the resilience we never knew we possessed, and the incredible love we already have for our future child. Every surgery, every medication, every canceled cycle, and every failed treatment has only strengthened our determination to become parents.
We know there are no guarantees with IVF, but we are ready to continue this journey with hope and gratitude. We respectfully ask for your consideration, not only because of the medical challenges we have faced, but because we are committed to doing everything possible to create the family we have prayed for. An IVF grant would represent more than financial assistance—it would represent the opportunity to continue believing that, despite years of infertility, our dream of becoming parents is still within reach.
How we'll use the funds: If awarded, this IVF grant would be used entirely to offset the significant costs associated with our IVF treatment. After years of battling infertility caused by PCOS and endometriosis, we have reached the point where IVF offers us the best opportunity to grow our family. Unfortunately, the financial burden of treatment is one of the greatest obstacles standing between us and that chance.
The grant would help cover essential IVF expenses, including ovarian stimulation medications, trigger medications, hormone support medications, and any additional prescriptions required throughout the treatment process. These medications are critical to preparing my body for egg retrieval, supporting embryo development, and increasing the chances of a successful pregnancy.
In addition to medications, the grant would be used to purchase the necessary medical supplies required for treatment, including injection supplies, needles, syringes, alcohol swabs, sharps containers, and other items needed to safely administer medications at home.
The remaining funds would be applied toward the cost of the IVF procedure itself, including cycle monitoring appointments, laboratory work, ultrasounds, egg retrieval, fertilization, embryo culture, embryo transfer, anesthesia, and other treatment-related fees. Any additional expenses directly related to our IVF cycle, such as embryo freezing or storage if medically recommended, would also be covered using the grant.
Every dollar of this grant would go directly toward helping us achieve our dream of becoming parents. Receiving this support would not only ease the overwhelming financial burden of IVF but would also provide us with the opportunity to pursue the treatment that offers the greatest hope after years of infertility, surgery, and unsuccessful fertility treatments.
We are incredibly grateful for your consideration and for organizations that make family-building possible for couples facing infertility. This grant would represent far more than financial assistance—it would provide us with hope, opportunity, and the chance to continue fighting for the family we have dreamed of for so long.
