My name is Claudia Paredes, and my husband and I dream of growing our family together. Eight years ago, after serious complications during my last pregnancies, I underwent an emergency hysterectomy. Though I’m no longer able to carry a child, my heart has never stopped hoping for the chance to become a mother again. When I met my husband, who has no children of his own, we knew we wanted to build a family together. Despite the challenges, we found a reason to hope—my ovaries are healthy and still producing eggs. With the incredible gift of a surrogate who has offered to carry our baby, we now have a real chance to welcome a little one into our lives through IVF. The journey ahead is both emotionally and financially demanding. IVF and surrogacy come with significant costs—medical procedures, legal fees, and compensation for our surrogate—that are beyond what we can manage alone.
