Hi, my name is Ashley Jones, and at just 32 years old, I was diagnosed with HER2-positive invasive ductal breast cancer. Receiving this diagnosis has completely changed my life, but one thing I refuse to let cancer take away without a fight is my dream of becoming a mother.
Before I can begin chemotherapy, my oncology team referred me to a reproductive endocrinologist to preserve my eggs. Because chemotherapy can significantly impact fertility, this is a time-sensitive step that must happen before treatment begins.
The cost of egg preservation is approximately $10,000, which unfortunately is not covered by my insurance. Like many cancer patients, I’ve quickly learned that the financial burden of cancer extends far beyond medical appointments. Between treatment, time away from work, insurance premiums, copays, medications, and everyday living expenses, the costs add up faster than I ever imagined.
I am incredibly grateful for the foundations, social workers, and organizations that have already stepped in to help guide me through this journey. Their kindness has reminded me that I am not walking this road alone. Any funds raised through this fundraiser will go directly toward the cost of preserving my fertility before treatment begins.
Whether you’re able to donate or simply share my story, your support means more than words can express. Most importantly, I ask for your prayers as I begin chemotherapy and continue trusting God through every step of this journey.
Thank you for believing in my future and helping me preserve the possibility of one day becoming a mother.
