We're Keith and Laura. We've been struggling with fertility since we got married 13 years ago. There have been many tests but not so many answers. In the last 13 years, we have had six pregnancy losses. We thought we had everything figured out with number six, but ended up in the ER needing emergency surgery for a ruptured ectopic and Laura lost her right fallopian tube.
Oregon health insurance companies are not required to offer fertility coverage, and IVF is over $15,000. We both work full time, are used to doing things on our own, and understand how tight finances get. But, if you would like to contribute, it would be greatly appreciated.

Surgery

We found out at the end of May that we were pregnant again. We kept it quiet because we\'d already had four miscarriages and an ectopic. We were supposed to have our seven week ultrasound on 6/10 but I (Laura) started having this weird pain on 6/9 which proceeded to get worse as the day went on. We ended up in the ER and were told that it was another ectopic which required immediate surgery. Evidently, that pain I felt was my right fallopian tube rupturing. They had to remove it. Now I\'m down to just the left side and we\'re looking at thousands of dollars in medical bills for the ER visit and surgery. I\'m trying to focus on post-surgery recovery and not worry about money or what this means for our chances of having our own kid. If we have to go for IVF, then chances are our journey will end. One round of IVF is $16,000. Just wanted to update everyone. Have a nice day.
