Hello, my name is Shawn. Some may know me from my doll making as Unireborndad. I’m a trans man pursuing parenthood as a single dad, risking societal scrutiny and my body image for the love of my future child. For 7+ years, my doll making has been a labor of love, standing alongside hundreds of incredible people on their fertility and healing journeys. Now, as I navigate my own path toward hope, I am reaching out for a little support of my own. I’ve been undergoing fertility treatment for more than nine months now (including several ICI and IUI cycles), and my insurance provides no coverage. Moving to IVF means costs have escalated far beyond what I originally anticipated and saved for. As a single parent, there is no partner to share these expenses with. And as a transgender man, my path to parenthood comes with additional emotional considerations and costs.
