Their story

Sophie is the most selfless, kind, and outrageously funny person I know. She pours everything she has into me, her family, my family, her high school volleyball players, and the special-education students she teaches in PE. She is also one of the hardest working people I have ever met. Along with being one of the youngest 6A high school volleyball coaches, she also coaches club volleyball, tutors’ math, and gives individual volleyball lessons to contribute to us saving for IVF. With all of that on her plate, she still makes time for me, and I am extremely blessed to have her by my side. Two years ago I left a job that covered infertility benefits, not knowing that two weeks later Sophie would be diagnosed with Hydrosalpinx. We have been told that IVF is our only realistic option for having a child of our own, and that she will have to have her tubes surgically removed. The last two years have been filled with grief, and a lot of “why us”, but we know that everything happens for a reason. While waiting and saving, we have decided to pour our love into our friends’ kids, and into spoiling my two year old niece, while we keep saving for our own family. I have been working a full-time job plus doing manual labor after my 9-5, and on the weekends. Unfortunately, due to student loans and our bills, it will still take a significant amount of time for us to save the $30,000+, and we also know it may take a few tries, which means more money. We are both prideful individuals who hate to ask people for help, so it is hard for me to even post this after reading some of the stories on here. With that said, please take your time to read others’ fundraisers before choosing to donate to us. Thank you.
