My name is Jess and I have a rare genetic disorder called Hypohidrotic Ectodermal Dysplasia. HED affects the endocrine system and specifically impacts the development of hair, skin, nails, and sweat glands. My children have a 50% chance of having a disorder that will not allow them to cool their body or develop the typical amount of teeth. I am a preschool special education teacher and my husband is a small business owner. It is our dream to add to our family, while ensuring our children are not continually affected by HED.
