Hi there! Like many other couples, Peter and I never expected to find ourselves dealing with the challenges of infertility. After a year of trying to start a family, I suffered an ectopic pregnancy resulting in an emergency surgery. After having one Fallopian tube removed, we soon learned my remaining tube was damaged as well. Now, in addition to dealing with the physical and emotional strain of the ectopic pregnancy and grieving the pregnancy we lost, we also had to process the news that our path to parenthood would look much different than we imagined. While we are grateful that IVF is an option and still hopeful we will one day have the family we long for, there is still an intense and expensive road ahead.
