My name is Columbine and at 46, I’ve carried a dream in my heart for as long as I can remember—the dream of becoming a mother. Though life had other plans for me early on, six years ago I was blessed beyond measure when I adopted two incredible children who have filled my world with more love and joy than I ever thought possible. During the adoption process, I met the love of my life, and together we built the family I had always hoped for. But our story isn’t over yet. Every night, without fail, my children wrap their little hands together and ask for one thing: a baby brother or sister. Their innocent prayers have reawakened that longing in me—to experience pregnancy, to bring a new life into our family, and to give my children the sibling they so dearly wish for. After years of struggling with infertility, we’ve been given a new sense of hope through IVF. But the financial burden is overwhelming, and we can’t do it alone.
