Their story

We have been trying to have a baby for 18 months. Between countless appointments, surgery (I had a fibroid in my uterus), and going into debt, this journey has taken an emotional, physical, and financial toll on us. We’re at our wits' end and are so hopeful that we can move forward with IVF instead of continuing IUIs - which have already been incredibly expensive and aren't covered by our provincial healthcare or our workplace benefits. Teisha and I met a little later in life, in our 30s, after relationships that left each of us wondering if we would ever find our person. It was such a relief to finally find a relationship that not only felt like home but also gave us hope for a future we hadn't dared to imagine before. We love each other deeply, and more than anything, we hope to add to our little home that's already full of so much love. We both really want to be moms. As spiritual people, we both feel like we already know the soul of our baby. It feels as though they're just out of reach. As much as we long for them to be here, something is happening with my body that has kept us from bringing the final piece of our family earthside. When we first started our IUI journey, we were so full of hope. We found ourselves cooing over tiny clothes, talking about all the adventures we'd have with a little one tagging along, and dreaming about names, personalities, family traditions, and the kind of moms we hoped we'd become. Having a family has always been our dream, and the last year and a half has been incredibly hard. I work in children's mental health, and caring for kids brings me so much joy. We both feel strongly about raising children who are kind, compassionate, helpful, environmentally conscious, and who bring a little more light into a world that can sometimes feel dark. Our families are close-knit, and we would love nothing more than to grow that circle of love. Our child will be so deeply loved; not just by our families, but by friends who truly feel like family. We are incredibly lucky to have such an amazing village ready and waiting. Everything is in place except the financial piece. The cost of IVF is what's standing between us and the family we've been dreaming of. Receiving support would lift an enormous weight off our shoulders and give us the chance to keep moving forward with hope. Thank you so much for considering us. We know there are so many deserving families who also need support, and we are truly grateful to be considered alongside them. ❤️
