For more than two years, we have been trying to grow our family and give our son Hugo a sibling. During that time, we have pursued every reasonable option available to us before moving forward with IVF, including fertility medications, multiple IUIs, and continued attempts to conceive naturally. IVF was never a step we expected to need, but after everything we have tried, it has become our best chance at having another child. The financial cost of IVF is significant for our family. Over the past 6 months, we moved to a new state, purchased our first home, and my husband has gone through a career transition, all of which have made taking on this unexpected medical expense especially challenging.
