Our Infertility Journey My name is Ashley Whyburn and my husband’s name is Tylor Whyburn. We began trying for a child about two years ago after our wedding. After about a year and half with no success, we scheduled an appointment to get both of us tested for various things that could be causing infertility. After countless tests, ultrasounds, and labs, we were given an “unexplained infertility” diagnosis. I asked myself if not knowing is worse than knowing and I am still not sure of that answer. We tried our first round of IUI in February and it unfortunately failed. We are now planning our next steps in which our doctor has recommended IVF. I am a 2nd grade teacher and my husband works for UPS. Our health insurance does not cover any form of infertility treatments. We used all of what we had saved on the IUI cycle that unfortunately failed. We are trying our best to save any penny we can but it will be a long road. It has been my dream, since I was young and playing with dolls, to be a mother. As much as my heart has been broken and crushed throughout learning this news and throughout this process, I have kept my head held high and we have kept our faith that God has a plan for us! We are remaining hopeful that we will one day be blessed with a child.
