Grant Program Overview: How Recipients Are Selected

Each quarter, Gift of Parenthood awards need-based grants of up to $20,000 toward fertility treatment. The grants are funded by donations to our charitable grant fund, and every recipient is chosen through our application review. Here is how the process works, start to finish.

Who can apply

You are a U.S. resident and at least 21 years old.
You have a Gift of Parenthood account (free to create).
You are pursuing fertility treatment such as IVF, IUI, surrogacy, or adoption.
You can provide documentation of your treatment plan from a licensed provider.
One application per person per quarter.

When to apply

The program runs on four quarterly cycles, and each cycle has its own application window:

Spring: January 15 to April 15
Summer: April 16 to July 15
Fall: July 16 to October 15
Winter: October 16 to January 14

How recipients are selected

This is a need-based charitable grant, not a sweepstakes or a random drawing. Each quarter, our grant committee reads every complete application and selects recipients based on:

Demonstrated financial need
Completeness of the application
Documentation of your treatment plan

Up to 25 recipients can be selected in a quarter, and each may receive up to $20,000 depending on their treatment plan and financial need. Submitting an application does not guarantee an award, and the committee's decisions are final. Make sure your application is complete before the window closes; incomplete applications cannot be considered.

If you are selected

Grant funds are sent directly to your fertility treatment provider, so they can only be used for fertility-related medical care. Recipients are responsible for any tax obligations that come with an award, and we issue the appropriate tax forms as required by law.
