Requirements to withdraw funds

This article covers what you need in order to withdraw the funds you raise. Withdrawals run through Stripe, our payments partner, so most of these requirements come from Stripe's identity verification, which protects you and your donors.

On Gift of Parenthood

• A connected bank account. Connect it through Stripe on your Withdrawals page. You cannot request a withdrawal until your bank connection shows as Active.
• A balance above the minimum. There is a small minimum per request (currently $10; the request form always shows the current minimum).
• One request at a time. Each fundraiser can have one withdrawal request in review at a time.

Every request is reviewed by our team before it is paid out, and approved payouts are processed within 3 to 5 business days.

Identity verification in the United States

During Stripe's setup you will be asked for:

• A Social Security number or ITIN
• A US driver's license, state ID, or a passport from any country
• A residential address (not a PO box)
• A US phone number
• A US bank account in your name

You must be 18 or older to withdraw funds. Stripe may also request additional documents to verify your identity or bank information. Everything you submit is stored securely with Stripe; Gift of Parenthood never sees or stores your documents, bank login, balance, or transactions.

If you do not meet the requirements

Please do not create a fundraiser in your own name. Instead, ask someone you deeply trust who does meet the requirements to create and manage the fundraiser for you. They will be the one receiving and withdrawing the funds.

If you have already raised money and are having trouble completing verification, contact support before anything else. We will work through your options with you.
