Gift of Parenthood Grant Program Explained

The Gift of Parenthood Grant Program awards need-based grants of up to $20,000 toward fertility treatment, with four grant cycles every year. Recipients are chosen through our application review, and awarded funds go directly to the recipient's fertility provider.

Two ways to take part

Apply on its own. You do not need to run a fundraiser to apply, and sharing your story publicly is always optional. Create a free account, then submit your application on the grant portal. Applying requires a $75 application fee.

Fundraise first and apply with your fee waived. Start a fundraiser on Gift of Parenthood and raise your first $100 from at least two supporters, and your $75 application fee is waived automatically. Donations you make to yourself do not count toward the $100, the waiver applies once per person, and every dollar you raise is yours either way. Learn more on the Launch Path.

Both paths go through the same application review. Fundraising does not change how your application is judged; the committee looks at financial need, the completeness of your application, and your treatment plan documentation.

Where the money comes from

The grant fund is run by Gift of Parenthood, Inc., a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and is powered by donations from our community and partners. Because it is a registered charity, donations to the grant fund may be tax-deductible.

That is different from donating to an individual's fundraiser. The crowdfunding platform is operated by Give Panda, LLC, a for-profit company, and donations to a personal fundraiser are personal gifts to that family and generally not tax-deductible. If deductibility matters to you, you can support the grant fund directly, and we recommend consulting a tax advisor for specific guidance.
